RESEARCH FACILITIES

Bangkok Animal Research Center has its own research center in the Phrasamutjedi district of Samutprakan province. The center comprises an office building, three broiler houses with seven experimental rooms, two broiler metabolic rooms, a slaughterhouse, a feed mill and farm laboratories.

Broiler trial measurements :

1. Performance (body weight gain, feed intake, FCR, mortality)
2. Digestibility (ME and other nutrient digestibility)
3. Carcass evaluation (% carcass, breast, thigh, drum, wing, abdominal fat)
4. Meat quality (drip loss, shear strength, fat oxidation etc.)
5. Others (water intake, bacterial count,Litter Score, blood parameters, intestinal tissues, bone parameters (bone strength, bone minerals), etc.)

Broiler trial measurements(Digestibility)

Digestibility can be defined as the percentage of feed taken into the digestive tract that is absorbed into the bodies of animals. It is a key measurement that influences animal productivity and production cost. Today, many feed enzymes and other feed and animal products have been developed which are claimed to improve digestibility. To combat the increasing demand for testing these feed additives for digestibility improvement, BARC has set up many research facilities to help clients determine product efficacy.

Metabolizable energy of feeds and feedstuffs by total collection technique using broiler chickens.
Standardized ileal digestibility (amino acids, protein, fat) of feeds and feedstuffs by marker  technique or total collection technique using broiler chickens. 
Nutrient retention study by marker technique or by total collection technique using broiler chickens.
